How much do you charge?

Depending on the types of services and the amount of time, care is billed hourly with rates as low as $21 an hour. Call us to schedule an assessment and get more information on pricing.

I have a benefits package from work, can it help pay for the cost?

Depending on the service provider and terms in the policy, it is possible that a portion of the cost spent on Sage services can be covered by your workplace's benefits package. Give us a call at (877) 218-2665, we can help you navigate through this process.

What kind of services does Sage offer?

We can help with non-medical activities of daily life. Sage Caregiver provide services like meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care (bathing, dressing), housekeeping, help with grocery shopping and other outings such as medical appointments. If you have something else in mind and aren't sure if they fall into those categories, give us a call at (877) 218-2665.

Is there a minimum hours requirement?

Our minimum hours requirement is 2 hours.

Do I pay taxes on Sage services?

It depends on if the patient is currently receiving CCAC home care. The Ontario government states that if a patient is using private home care services at their own home, in addition to receiving CCAC home care, they are exempt from paying HST on private services. HST still applies if the client is only using private home care services.

Do your caregivers have insurance?

Yes. All our our caregivers are insured with $1,000,000 in general and commercial liabilities.

How do you screen your caregivers?

Our Ontario-based caregivers all have a certificate in Personal Support Work or higher through an accredited college, updated CPR and First Aid training, police background check and years of experience working in elderly care. They all must pass a skills based test and in person interviews. Making sure we have compassionate, patient and skilled caregivers is our top priority.

How often do I get updates?

You will receive visit notes within a few hours for appointments that end before 10pm. For appointments ending after 10pm, you will receive visit notes on the next day at 7:30am, we don't want to disturb you in the middle of the night.

If something more urgent needs your attention, caregivers have family contact information at their fingertips at all times. You can sleep soundly knowing that we'll ring if anything urgent comes up.

Can Sage Caregivers drive a patient to doctor's appointments in a hospital?

No, our caregivers cannot drive patients to a doctor's appointment in their vehicle or one that belongs to the patient or their family. However, we will be more than happy to help arrange transportation services with a taxi, bus or Wheel-Trans service. The patient or their family is responsible for the cost.

Are Sage services covered by OHIP?

The amount you spend on Sage services isn't covered by OHIP. However, if you have a benefits package at work, it is possible that some policies do provide coverages for home care. Give us a call at (877) 218-2665, we can help you navigate through this process.

How often does Sage charge me?

We charge your payment card on file immediately after a visit is finished. We'll send your a receipt via email after each transaction. If you want to see how much you've spent, you can see a history of all of your payments on your dashboard.

Is my credit card information safe?

Absolutely. We use a third party provider called Stripe to securely process all of our transactions. We never store any of your payment information in our servers.
